The inauguration of the Indian Welding Society (IWS) Student Chapter and the technical session on “Opportunities in Welding,” organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology in association with the Indian Welding Society, significantly enhanced students’ awareness of current industry trends, career opportunities, and emerging technologies in welding and manufacturing. The interaction with experienced industry professionals strengthened the institute–industry connect and provided clarity on skill requirements and professional expectations. The event also motivated students to actively engage in professional development activities, technical certifications, and student chapter initiatives, thereby fostering a culture of continuous learning and career-oriented growth.
