Department of Biomedical Engineering organized an Industry oriented one credit course on "Biosignal Interface and Analysis using LabVIEW" from 14.10.2025 to 16.10.2025. The session was handled by Mr. Boopathi Sakthivel, Founder and CEO, Prashan Medical Technologies, Coimbatore. The following topics were taken in each session for the third year Biomedical Engineering students.
1. Introduction to LabVIEW and its installation
2. Sensor integration with LabVIEW (Heart Rate, BP, DAQ modules, ECG, etc.)
3. Data acquisition, filtering, amplification, comparison of data, and control of external devices (LED) using LabVIEW
4. Advantages of Virtual Instrumentation and comparison with conventional instruments
5. LabVIEW Software Overview, including graphical user interface, palettes, and tools
6. General functional description of digital instruments
7. Front panel objects, functions, and libraries
8. Interfacing hardware such as myDAQ and Arduino with LabVIEW
9. Overview of PC architecture in relation to data acquisition systems
The session provided students with hands-on exposure to graphical programming, signal acquisition, data processing, and real-time control using LabVIEW.
