The Department of Physics at KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology (KPRIET) successfully formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Westechpower Management Pvt. Ltd., Maharashtra, marking a significant milestone in advancing research and innovation in energy storage technologies. This partnership has laid the foundation for collaborative engagements in the field of supercapacitor technology and advanced functional materials. As an immediate outcome of the MoU, an interactive session titled "From Lab to Market" was conducted by Dr. T. Boobalan, Research Scientist at Westechpower, to initiate knowledge exchange and stimulate research translation initiatives. The MoU is already catalyzing fruitful collaborations. Research scholars and faculty members are exploring joint research proposals, and preliminary discussions have begun on student internships and industry-oriented training modules. The partnership is also expected to accelerate the department’s efforts in developing application-driven material systems with real-world impact. Through this strategic collaboration, KPRIET aims to strengthen its research ecosystem, bridge the gap between academia and industry, and empower its students and researchers to contribute meaningfully to the growing energy storage sector.
