The IEEE KPRIET Student Branch with the IEEE KPRIET Education Society SBC in collaboration with IEEE Young Professionals, IEEE YP Edsoc AD HOC Committee, IEEE Madras Section YP, IEEE YP Comsoc AD HOC, successfully hosted the IEEE Pathfinder event on August 22nd and 23rd at KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology (KPRIET). This event, part of the STEP initiative, was designed to connect students with industry experts and equip them with essential skills for the corporate world, ensuring a smooth transition from academia to industry.
Day 1 of the event featured key sessions on leveraging AI tools in research and maximizing the benefits of IEEE membership. A panel discussion with industry leaders focused on the evolving skill sets required for engineering graduates, providing attendees with insights into the demands of the modern job market.
On Day 2, participants embarked on industrial visits to leading companies, including PEPS, Flowlink, Audi Coimbatore, and KPR Mills. These visits offered students firsthand exposure to industry operations and professional environments. The day concluded with a campus tour and an impressive drone show, followed by a valedictory session where winners of the networking and icebreaking sessions were awarded IEEE memberships.
With over 100 participants, IEEE Pathfinder successfully bridged the gap between academia and industry, reinforcing the relevance of IEEE Young Professionals' initiatives in preparing students for their future careers. The event's success was evident in the enthusiastic participation, valuable industry interactions, and the positive feedback received from attendees, making it a significant milestone for the IEEE KPRIET Student Branch.
