Department of Civil Engineering, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology (KPRIET), in association with CODCEA (Coimbatore District Civil Engineers Association), is organizing the CODCEA Talent Search Competition 2026 on 11 August 2026, from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM at Thanam Hall, Bhaskara Block, KPRIET.
The competition is designed to identify, challenge, and showcase the technical knowledge, engineering skills, problem-solving ability, creativity, and teamwork of aspiring civil engineering professionals. The event provides participants with an opportunity to demonstrate their competency through a series of challenging technical and practical activities.
The competition consists of three rounds. Round I – Technical Screening Test comprises 50 multiple-choice questions covering major areas of Civil Engineering, including Surveying, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Analysis, Steel Structures, Reinforced Concrete Design, Concrete Technology, Transportation Engineering, and Environmental Engineering.
Round II – Engineering Drawing & Technical Interpretation assesses participants' ability to interpret engineering drawings, develop appropriate cross-sectional views, apply engineering drawing standards, and demonstrate accuracy, visualization, dimensioning, and technical interpretation skills. Based on the cumulative performance in Rounds I and II, the top six teams will qualify for the Grand Finale.
Round III – Grand Finale provides an exciting multidisciplinary platform featuring Technical Quiz, Code Cracking Challenge, Structural & Personality Identification Challenge, and Technical Word Hunt (Engineering Terminology Puzzle). These activities are designed to evaluate technical knowledge, analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, engineering awareness, and teamwork in an engaging competitive environment.
The CODCEA Talent Search Competition 2026 aims to bridge academic learning with practical engineering competencies while encouraging students to think, solve, create, and lead. The event serves as a platform for recognizing talented civil engineering students and motivating them to develop the professional skills required to meet the evolving demands of the construction and infrastructure industry.
